TV & monitor cubic feet and CBM shipping calculator.
Enter the outside carton dimensions, quantity and case pack to calculate volume per carton, total cubic feet, CBM and a theoretical comparison with 20 ft, 40 ft and 40 ft high-cube containers.
Carton details
Use the outside dimensions of the shipping carton, not the unpacked TV or monitor dimensions.
For TVs and many monitors this is usually 1 unit per carton. For accessories or smaller products, enter the actual case pack.
Volume estimate
Volume results for freight planning. This is not a physical load plan.
How to use the calculation for freight planning
For bulky products such as televisions, monitors, soundbars and some audio equipment, freight economics can change significantly based on carton volume. The first step is to work from actual shipping-carton dimensions rather than the product’s marketed screen size.
Formulas used
- Cubic feet from inches: length × width × height ÷ 1,728.
- CBM from centimeters: length × width × height ÷ 1,000,000.
- Conversion: 1 m³ ≈ 35.315 ft³.
Why container volume is only a planning reference
Rectangular cartons do not fill every available space. Large TVs may have orientation, stack-height and damage-protection constraints; pallets also reduce usable volume. A shipment can also reach a weight limit before reaching its volume limit. For that reason, the container comparison in this tool is for early planning, not a promise of loadable quantity.
Next step
After estimating volume, identify the exact product by SKU, model or UPC and confirm dimensions, weight, quantity, destination and any battery or pallet requirements before booking freight.
